The High Risk Surgical Conference & WebEx meeting provides a space for individuals working in the Baylor Heart Hospital Surgical Department a place to discuss the various options used to possibly treat patients. Discussion includes a wide variety of topics including the latest updates in congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, coronary artery disease, cardiac arrhythmias, congenital heart disease, anticoagulation, preventive cardiology, and valvular heart disease, among others.

Course Objectives: At the conclusion of the program the attendee will be better able to:

  • To accurately assess surgical risk in cardiac surgery patients.
  • To learn optimal surgical strategies for high-risk patients.
  • To learn techniques pre-, intra-, and postoperative to reduce surgical risk.
  • To learn optimal revascularization strategies for diverse cardiac surgery patients with CAD.
